It Starts

Today was the first day of my commercial insurance career. I showed up at 8am and there weren't too many people there yet. I'm working in a place that is laid back enough that people just sort of roll in at their leisure between 8 and 8:30am. That's cool with me. I spent the first part of the morning filling out paper work for taxes and insurance etc. Your typical first day at the office kind of activity.

Because I am so new to insurance, my first few days will keep my nose inside a book learning an entire industry. That sounds a bit daunting but I am excited about it. I spent several hours pouring over what amounted to academic texts and it immediately brought me back to college. I'm home right now getting ready to pour over some more material. Again, I'm taking this seriously and will do whatever it takes to succeed. Thus far, I really like the people I work with. Everyone seemed really friendly which I suppose is a foregone conclusion for someone's first day but I could tell just the way they all interacted with each other that they really do get along. I'm looking forward to going back tomorrow.

I know yesterday I said we would start examining some different reasons for hating your/my previous jobs but honestly, I'm too tired. I'll try again tomorrow.

Good Luck! I think this will work out for you and I am interesting in reading about it.
